I like to think I've created a place where wit, heart, and a grit come together in a delightfully unique retail experience. Located in historic downtown Culpeper, we are your go-to destination for edgy, funny, (sometimes swear-y) and thoughtful treats that will leave you satisfied and smiling.

Not only is LeMonkey House a unique haven for misfits & wanderers among the sea of boutiques and restaurants, it's also our very own brand. We design and print our own apparel, greeting cards, and posters right here... so yeah... we're pretty amazing.

FAQ: "Where did you come up with the name?"

Vonnegut led us down this path. In a haze of collegiate ambition, I once dreamed of running a store and uttering those fateful words: "Welcome to the Monkey House" - paying homage to one of Mr. Vonnegut's collection of short stories.

We also have an unhealthy obsession with coffee, Steve Buscemi, and 90% of the discography of Talking Heads. All suitable topics for conversation, and can be (and have been) exhaustively discussed around these parts.

Mission accomplished. But in reality, we typically just go with "how's it going" or a simple, yet effective: "hey, there."
